With deep sorrow, loved ones and members of the community announced the falling asleep in the Lord of Father Andrew, remembering him as a dedicated clergyman who faithfully served his parishes in Ocean Township, New Jersey, and Houston, Texas. His passing has left a profound void among his family, friends, parishioners, and all those who had the privilege of receiving his spiritual guidance.
A close friend and former seminary roommate shared a heartfelt tribute, describing Father Andrew as someone who brought passion and dedication to everything he did. Their friendship began during their time at seminary in Brookline, Massachusetts, where lifelong memories were formed. Beyond his priestly duties, Father Andrew was remembered for his curiosity, generosity, humor, and the many interests that reflected his vibrant personality.
Those who knew him recalled his love of reading, his appreciation for Disney, and his remarkable ability to repair and understand complex machinery. Before and during his seminary years, Father Andrew maintained his skills as a machinery technician, becoming one of only a few people in the world capable of repairing specialized equipment. His expertise even took him on trips internationally, including to Japan, where he was called upon for his unique knowledge.
However, those closest to him emphasized that Father Andrew’s greatest legacy was not only his accomplishments but the love, faith, and kindness he shared with others. He was a spiritual shepherd who dedicated himself to serving his parish communities and supporting those who sought comfort, guidance, and hope.
Father Andrew is deeply mourned by his wife, Presvytera Angela, their children, family members, friends, and all those who were blessed by his ministry.
Funeral arrangements, viewing information, and service details have been provided through Bongarzone Funeral Home. Due to limited parking availability, shuttle services have been arranged for attendees traveling to the church, cemetery, and Makaria (Mercy Meal) following the funeral service.
