The communities of Limerick, Ballysimon, Thomondgate, and Dolla, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary are mourning the tragic passing of Caleb Purcell, a talented photographer and beloved member of his community who died on July 18, 2026.
Caleb’s passing has left his family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew him heartbroken. He was remembered not only for his creative talent behind the camera but also for the kindness, warmth, and genuine connections he shared with those around him.
A gifted photographer through Caleb Purcell Photography, Caleb had a passion for capturing meaningful moments and preserving memories through his work. His artistic ability allowed him to tell stories through images, leaving behind a collection of work that reflected his creativity, dedication, and unique perspective. He was also known through his time at Harvey Norman Limerick, where he built relationships with colleagues and members of the wider community.
News of Caleb’s tragic passing has prompted an outpouring of sadness from those who had the privilege of knowing him. Friends and loved ones have remembered him as someone who brought positivity and kindness into the lives of others, leaving behind cherished memories that will continue to be treasured.
Caleb will be deeply missed by his parents, Nora and Frank, his sister Eve, nieces Chloe and Sarah, nephew Jack, godmother Mary, godfather David, Emma and the Le Gear family, along with his extended family, friends, neighbours, and everyone whose life he touched.
As loved ones prepare to say goodbye, they will gather to honor Caleb’s life and celebrate the memories they shared with him. He will repose at Cross’s Funeral Home, Lower Gerald Griffin Street, Limerick, on Wednesday, July 22, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A celebration of Caleb’s life will take place on Thursday, July 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Shannon Crematorium.
